When is the next full moon?

The Moon page shows the next full moon date and time computed for your location, along with moonrise and moonset.

Why does the Moon change shape?

Phases come from the changing angle between the Sun, Earth, and Moon. The Moon is not being shadowed by Earth except during a lunar eclipse.

The page shows today's illumination percentage, phase name, and rise and set times in real time.
